Welcome to BURN BURN is a short film with a crime prevention message that is part of Legal Aid’s Community Legal Education (CLE) program for young people. It aims to increase young peoples’ awareness of the laws around group offending and robbery as well as their rights when dealing with the police. Telephone Advice Lawyers from the Children's Legal Service provide legal advice over the telephone to children and young people under 18 who have committed or who are suspected of committing an offence. Under the NSW Young Offenders Act, young people have the right to legal advice before making an admission or a statement to the police: Legal Aid Youth Hotline for under 18s: 1800 10 18 10 (toll free) Click here for more details about the Hotline and the Young Offenders Act.
