Taking cover: we want to hear your take on insurance
6 Mar 2017
Legal Aid NSW is exploring how people’s health conditions affect their experiences with insurance products, and we want to hear your story.
Australians who have been affected by a health condition and have had experience with insurance are invited to participate in a new Legal Aid NSW research project.
Lillian Leigh, a senior lawyer and consumer advocate, is working to understand how customers’ health conditions – past or present – shape the way they access insurance products and interact with insurers.
She has developed a short, 10-minute online survey designed to help people tell their insurance story. Information provided through the survey will help Legal Aid NSW improve services to the community, and provide an opportunity for anyone seeking free expert advice about their situation to be connected with a Legal Aid NSW lawyer.
“When it comes to insurance products like life insurance or travel insurance, we know that there are people out there who have had trouble making claims due to their health condition, or have been unfairly locked out in the first place,” Ms Leigh said.
“This project will help us get a better handle on the issues – and will guide our efforts to achieve a fair go for vulnerable consumers.”
Take the survey now.
