Stay applications in the Supreme Court
A court order to stop the enforcement of a writ of possession is called a stay. Its purpose is usually to give you time to take some other action, such as challenging the judgment for possession that is the basis of the writ, or making a hardship application.
Stay applications are made in the Common Law Division of the Supreme Court.
