What to do if …

What if things have started to go wrong?

•   Perhaps, for example, you have missed a payment

•   The lender will probably contact you about it

•   Then, if the situation is not remedied, the lender is likely to issue a formal notice – a default notice – requiring payment

•   If matters are still not resolved you may receive a Statement of Claim – this means that the lender has taken court action against you

•   If the action succeeds, you will be required to vacate your home; if you don’t, you can be forcibly evicted by the sheriff

Whatever stage of this process you are at, there is something you can do.
