Juliana Crofts named a finalist for Government Lawyer of the Year award

Port Macquarie Solicitor in Charge Juliana Crofts has been named as a finalist in the Government Lawyer of the Year category at the NSW Women Lawyers Achievement Awards 2019.

Juliana Crofts has been named as a finalist in the Government Lawyer of the Year category at the NSW Women Lawyers Achievement Awards 2019.
 
This award acknowledges and celebrates the contributions and achievements of outstanding women lawyers, mentors and firms who have achieved excellence in their areas of practice, while advancing opportunities for women in the law.
 
As Legal Aid NSW Port Macquarie Solicitor in Charge, Ms Crofts leads a team of 14 lawyers and 24 staff providing legal services to the state’s mid-north coast. Eighty percent of her staff are women and her office has the largest number of female lawyers in the region.
 
She has 15 years of experience practising in criminal law in the city and in regional NSW.
 
Both a skilled negotiator and a fierce advocate, she has acted in trials that have resulted in the creation of new law. She is also a champion for social justice, and regularly supports disadvantaged clients as they attempt to build better lives.
 
Her influence extends from the courtroom to the schoolroom and into the wider community. She has been a mentor to other women in the law and inspired young women to pursue careers in justice.
 
The winners of the NSW Women Lawyers Achievement Awards will be announced at a gala ceremony in Sydney on August 23.
