3.2.7 - Contraventions

Legal aid is only available to make an application or respond to an application in court proceedings for contravention of parenting orders where the applicant:

• is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, or
• has or is experiencing domestic and family violence.

To be eligible for legal aid the applicant must satisfy:

• the Means Test,
• the Merit Test,
• the Forum Test.

Note: Legal aid is not available for enforcement of parenting orders.
