FAP household scenario 9: related adults

Brigid and Clover are sisters have lived together for over twenty years. They own their own home as joint tenants. They deny sharing resources. Brigid and Clover are being prosecuted by the RSPCA and have applied for legal aid for a Local Court defended hearing.

Brigid & Clover = joint tenants = ‘couple with no children’ household = ΓΌFAP

Legal Aid NSW determines that Brigid and Clover are financially related and are treated as a ‘couple with no children’ household because they are joint tenants in property. Brigid and Clover are FAPs and both their assets and income are included in the Means Test.
