Terminating aid scenario

Scenario – non-payment of contribution

Valerie has a grant of aid for proceedings in the Family Court. An initial contribution was imposed of $150 and you are satisfied that Valerie has capacity to pay the contribution. She has had her grant of aid for three months, but despite repeated requests from you she has not yet paid her contribution of $150.

Suggested action

If there is no pending appeal to LARC regarding Valerie's contribution, provide her with written notification that if she does not pay her contribution or appeal her contribution within 14 days her grant of aid will be terminated.
