4.5. Apprehended Personal Violence Order

Legal aid is available to defend an application for an Apprehended Personal Violence Order (APVO) under the Crimes (Domestic and Personal Violence) Act 2007 (NSW).

To be eligible for legal aid the applicant must satisfy:

NOTE: see Criminal Law Policy 4.16.3 for applications involving a child or young person.

NOTE: Legal aid is not available for applications for APVOs unless the applicant for legal aid is a child. See Criminal Law Policy 4.20.
