Homeless Outreach Legal Service

Who we are

The Homeless Outreach Legal Service is a specialist service of Legal Aid NSW. It runs advice clinics in a number of metropolitan and regional areas, mainly in places where homeless people hang out such as community centres.

Who we help

People experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness.

How we can help

Advice and assistance

We give free independent advice about matters such as fines, discrimination, housing, social security, complaints about government agencies, victim’s compensation and debt.

We assist clients as much as possible in a single session conducting minor casework assistance on the spot wherever possible.

Representation

We can prepare a case on behalf of a homeless person and represent them in court. The same lawyer, where possible, assists a client throughout the legal process.

Location

We have located a number of Legal Aid clinics in homeless service providers across NSW. Legal Aid NSW advice services can be searched by using the find a legal aid advice service.
