Law for Community Sector Workers Child Support

We run free workshops for staff, volunteers and board/committee members of NSW community organisations.  

This workshop covers:

  • How child support works and the child support formula
  • Proof of parentage
  • Dealing with the Child Support Agency
  • Where to get legal help 

This workshop is delivered by Legal Aid NSW lawyers with extensive experience in child support law.

Registration is essential as places for this workshop are limited. 

 

Who should attend? 


  • Staff that work have contact with people experiencing family breakdown including family services workers.
  • Staff that have contact with parents and children.

Learning Outcomes 


By completing this workshop, participants will have information and tools to:

  • Explain child support processes for payer and payee parents
  • Describe how the child support formula works
  • Describe some common problems people might have obtaining or paying child support
  • Identify where to get legal help and information

Duration

This is a half-day workshop of 3 hours duration.
