Law for Community Sector Workers Immigration Law
We run free workshops for staff, volunteers and board/committee members of NSW community organisations.
This workshop covers:
- Refugee and humanitarian visas
- Family stream migration
- Visa holders and relationship breakdown
- Review options available to clients
- Where to get legal help
This workshop is delivered by Legal Aid NSW lawyers with extensive experience in civil law.
Registration is essential as places for this workshop are limited.
Who should attend?
- Staff who have contact with refugees and newly arrived migrants.
- Staff from services working with women and children experiencing domestic violence.
Learning Outcomes
By completing this workshop, participants will have information and tools to:
- Explain the differences between humanitarian visa and family visa applications
- Better understand the residency options available to visa holders experiencing relationship breakdown
- Understand the review options available to clients if DIAC refuses a visa application
- Identify where to get legal help and information
