Law for Community Sector Workers Care & Protection
We run free workshops for staff, volunteers and board/committee members of NSW community organisations.
This workshop covers:
- Overview of the Care and Protection system
- Who reports and where?
- Care Plan Agreements, Parental Responsibility Contracts and Temporary Care Arrangements
- Processes in the Children's Court
- Where to get legal help
This workshop is delivered by Legal Aid NSW lawyers with extensive experience in Care & Protection.
Registration is essential as places for this workshop are limited.
Who should attend?
- Staff who have contact with parents involved in the Care & Protection system including those working in the disability, family support and social welfare sectors.
- Staff who have contact with carers involved in the Care & Protection system including those working in the disability, respite and family services workers.

- Describe the different types of interventions
- Explain the processes of the Children's Court
- Identify where to get legal help and information
