Terms and conditions for community legal education workshops

Registering for workshops

You must register for our workshops online. If you do not give us an accurate email address we will not be able to confirm your registration.

How we will acknowledge your registration

If you give us an accurate email address, an automatic email will be generated telling you that we have received your registration.

How we will confirm the workshop

We will send you an email reminder 1 week before the workshop. . We will also send you a courtesy email or SMS (text) reminder 48 hours before the workshop.

Details of the workshop

The email you receive automatically after registering will include the location and time. For some workshops, we will email you the workshop materials before the workshop. Please print these out and bring them to the workshop or have them available electronically.

If you need to cancel your registration or send someone else in your place
If you can no longer attend the workshop, another person from your workplace is welcome to attend in your place. Please let us know their name and contact details. You can contact us at cle@legalaid.nsw.gov.au.

If you can no longer attend and need to cancel your registration please contact us at cle@legalaid.nsw.gov.au as soon as possible. This way we can offer your place to another community worker.

What happens if a workshop is full?

If the workshop is full, you will not be able to register. There will be a message on the registration page telling you the workshop is full.

We suggest you check the registration page again in the week before the workshop as sometimes people drop out and places become available.

You can also sign up to our Law for Community Worker education email Alerts to find out about upcoming workshops, webinars and other learning opportunities. Email ‘sign me up’ to cle@legalaid.nsw.gov.au to join.

What will happen if Legal Aid NSW reschedule, cancel or change a workshop?

Workshop dates and venues sometimes change for unforeseen reasons. We will tell you as soon as possible if a workshop is rescheduled or moved to a new venue, as long as you have given us an accurate email address or phone details.

Legal Aid NSW is not responsible for travel-related costs that you may incur as a result of workshop being cancelled or re-scheduled. Travel bookings must be made with this in mind.
We will try to let you know as soon as possible if a workshop is cancelled.

What will happen after the workshop?

We value your feedback. You will be asked to complete a feedback form at the workshop or we may email you a link to an online feedback survey.

We may also contact you a few months after the workshop for a follow up survey—to find out if what you learnt at the workshop has been useful in your work.

If you would like a certificate of attendance emailed to you, you can request one at cle@legalaid.nsw.gov.au.
