Local Court RegistriesEvery Local Court has a registry, where staff can help members of the public with information about their case. You can also pay fees, fines and costs, or file documents at the registry.

Chamber serviceA service provided by most full time local court registries. The Registrar or Deputy Registrar can provide you with some help and guidance on court procedures and applications. They can't provide you with legal advice. You may need to make an appointment.
Registrar

A Registrar works in courts and can:

  • provide information to members of the public about court procedures and applications
  •  make decisions about whether to waive or postpone court fees
  • adjourn cases and making procedural orders in court
  • issue warrants for arrest
  • enter default judgment
  • consider and approve applications to pay court judgments, fines or costs by instalments.
