The Homelessness Program Legal Service is a specialist service of Legal Aid NSW. It provides legal services to prevent homelessness or resolve legal issues to help clients re-enter housing.
We can help people who are at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness.
We give free independent advice about matters such as tenancy disputes, appealing housing decisions, TICA listings and/or former tenant classifications, fines, discrimination, social security, complaints about government agencies and debt.
We assist clients as much as possible in a single session conducting minor casework assistance on the spot wherever possible.
We can represent you if you are eligible for legal aid.
We can prepare a case on your behalf if you are at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness and represent you in court, Tribunal or the Housing Appeals Committee. The same lawyer, where possible, assists throughout the legal process.
We have specialist solicitors in Lismore, Newcastle, Wagga Wagga and Nowra.
If you live in regional NSW, you can also contact us through your local Legal Aid NSW office.
