Prisoners Civil Law Service (PCLS) is a statewide specialist service of Legal Aid NSW.

PCLS gives information and referrals, advice, and legal help to prisoners. Our service is free and confidential.

We can give free advice and minor assistance in civil law areas like:

  • Centrelink issues
  • complaints about government departments
  • consumer disputes and debts
  • discrimination complaints
  • fines and WDO’s
  • healthcare and medication complaints
  • housing matters, social housing and rental disputes
  • victims support payments,
  • victims compensation restitution debts
  • wrongdoing by prison guard or police.

Our lawyers can arrange video link or telephone conferences with prisoners in all NSW gaols.

You can contact us by pressing #2 on the Common Auto Dial List (CADL) and asking for an appointment to speak to Prisoners Civil Law Service about your legal issue.
