Domestic and Family Violence Essentials training module

Overview

The Domestic and Family Violence Essentials training module provides a deeper understanding of what domestic and family violence is, how to work in a trauma-informed way and provides resources and tools to assist in representing clients in these matters.

To demonstrate participation in this training module, you are required to register and complete it through the Learning Management System (LMS).

Learning outcomes

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

1. understand issues relating to domestic and family violence including the types of behaviour, prevalence and impacts on parenting and children
2. screen clients who are experiencing or using domestic and family violence
3. assess the level of risk in matters involving domestic and family violence
4. respond to safety issues in matters involving domestic and family violence
5. identify intersecting legal and non-legal issues and make appropriate referrals, and
6. work in a trauma-informed way with people affected by domestic and family violence.
